A well-kept lawn is usually the first thing anyone notices about a garden, and the first thing that gets away from you if life gets busy. I cut, edge and tidy borders on a schedule that suits your garden, weekly or fortnightly through spring and summer, less often once growth slows in autumn.
If your lawn hasn’t been touched in a while, I also take on one-off cuts for gardens that have grown out of control. Long grass, brambles and overgrown edges get brought back under control in a single visit where the size of the job allows, or over two visits if it needs more time to recover.
Every lawn on the Isle of Wight behaves a little differently. Sandy soil near the coast in Seaview and Ryde dries out and scorches faster in a dry spell than the heavier ground further inland, so mowing height and frequency get adjusted rather than applying the same cut everywhere.
