Landscaper in Bembridge
Bembridge is the furthest village I cover, about 6 miles southeast of Ryde out towards the harbour and marina at the eastern tip of the island. It's a more spread-out village than Ryde or Seaview, with larger plots and a good number of period and detached properties near the water, alongside newer housing further back from the harbour. Because of the distance from Ryde, most of my work here is booked as a proper visit rather than squeezed in between other jobs, and it tends to suit customers happy to have work scheduled a little further ahead. The harbour and sailing club bring a similar seasonal feel to Seaview, with the village noticeably busier in summer than over winter, and gardens near the water often reflect that with planting chosen to look good through the sailing season.

Services available in Bembridge
Seasonal clean-ups and general maintenance are the most booked jobs in Bembridge, suited to the larger gardens typical of the village and the amount of ground that needs covering in one visit. Lawn mowing and hedge trimming are also regularly needed, particularly on the bigger plots near the harbour, and pruning work picks up on the more established, landscaped gardens closer to the water. Standing seasonal bookings work especially well out here, since a fixed spring and autumn visit means the garden never gets too far out of hand between trips.

Local to Bembridge
Gardens around the harbour and along the approach roads into the village tend to be larger than average, with room for lawns, mature borders and often a mix of ornamental and practical planting. Some of the older properties near the water have gardens that have clearly been landscaped at some point in the past and need maintaining to that original design rather than left to develop on their own. Being that bit further from Ryde, jobs here work best booked together rather than as single one-off visits, to make the most of the trip out and keep costs reasonable. As with Seaview, proximity to the water means more exposure to salt and wind on the properties closest to the harbour, which affects hedges and exposed planting more than gardens further inland towards the centre of the village. The more rural surroundings on the approach to Bembridge also mean more wildlife activity in gardens, from rabbits to deer passing through, which can affect what's worth planting in an unfenced border.
Common landscaper problems in Bembridge
Larger gardens here are more prone to getting away from homeowners between visits, because there's more ground to cover and less margin for missing a scheduled cut. Properties near the harbour also deal with more salt and wind exposure on hedges and borders than gardens further inland, similar to Seaview but often on a bigger scale. Rabbit and deer damage to borders is a more regular complaint here than in Ryde or Wootton, given the more open, rural land surrounding the village. Gravel drives and paths bordering lawns also need trimming carefully to keep a clean edge, since stray gravel thrown up by a strimmer can damage a mower blade on the next visit.
